Temple Zenith online is the virtual teaching coven for the Zenithian tradition of Wicca/Paganism.
Zenithian is a way to honor deity as well as practice the art of magick, presented in a system of daily spiritual living. Religion is an extremely personal thing, as such Temple Zenith believes in aiding a seeker in finding their own "true" path, but not in dictating what that path should be. We have rituals, meditations, and suggestions to
help the true seeker, new and old, find their way through the Pagan landscape but do not color that landscape for them. Zenithian is not a "cookie cutter" tradition and evolves with time by all who touch it.
My vision behind creating this tradition and the online coven is to present a safe, working spiritual system that takes into account the pressures, responsibilities and fast paced nature of today's society.
As a working mother of three, I fully understand that in today's world we are all unofficially expected to be super human, still finding energy and time to pursue our spiritual needs in addition to all of the other daily demands we have. It is not an easy task by any means. It is a dance to balance our lives, sometimes a frantic and chaotic one. It can be a beautiful and graceful dance, which gives us
a unique sense of pride and amazement. We can and should practice and live our spirituality daily, in tune with the passing of time and nature while working our full time jobs, going to school, taking care of our children, our homes and finding time for our significant others. It is not easy, but it is rewarding.
I do not wish Zenithian to be a rigid unchanging set of rituals and spells. I want everyone that studies it to continue to study and learn everything they can and expand on the foundation laid by Zenithian.
Magick in particular is about study, doing, recording and
very much being the metaphysician. I teach what has worked so well for my family and me with the hope that it will do the same for others, or at least give them a solid basis to discovering what does work best for them. Zenithian works for a coven setting, a family setting as well as a Solitary path.

I have been going through changes lately, wanting to shed old labels that no longer fit. Feeling like my pet Newt must when her skin gets old and tight. I am longing like her to squeeze under a rock and emerge from the other side fresh and new leaving the old skin behind, consuming it for its nutrients, but needing it no more.

All of the melting ice shelves and disapearing ice caps coupled with my reoccuring dreams of floods have me on the verge of panic. I know I must leave this place by the coast, but alas mundane ties do not make things simple, even when they are urgent. The sands continue to tumble through the hands of fate and time, or in this case the water gains momentum pouring and cutting through the protective icey embrace leaving a familiar world behind.

I am left in a state of flux and disarray, this too shall pass, I pray. I wonder if our Earth Mother is having similar feelings of late, as I ponder our heated fate.

The future is a very wet and humid place, I think I'll bring my plants inside.

One: The Principle of Knowledge- In magical working this principle first applies to self and secondly applies to knowledge in general. In order for you to be successful in magickal workings it is imperative to honestly know yourself objectively. If you cannot thoroughly examine the reasons why you think you need or want something, or if you do not posses the wisdom of self to truly even know what it is you want, you cannot possibly properly manifest those desires. To be honest with yourself and have a deep understanding of the complete you, including your limitations and weaknesses is to have control of yourself. After you have come to know yourself, then you must seek the knowledge of that which you desire. You must understand that desire and the things attracted and repealed by it.

You must know what questions to ask before you can begin the task of seeking out the answers.

Two: The Principle of Association- Applies to magickal work in that all things are linked through time and space, through association or grouping we can focus and find the correct string or wave on the web of life that is connected to our target object or outcome. Once you know yourself and know an object you can find the things within you and the things the object correlate with, thus bringing the two together, you then can affect things through use of this association. For instance I tend to group everything under the elemental headings of Earth, Air, Fire and Water… certain stones, herbs, places and actions are associated predominantly with one of the elements of creation.

Three: The Principle of Similarity and Contagion- Similarity applies to magickal work in that which stirs your memory or emotion of someone or something will allow you to influence that person or thing. Contagion applies to magical work in that the things that have come into contact with a person or thing, such as an article of clothing by the fact that they have had mutual contact, will continue to interact with one another, even after separation on some level. These principles in magic pertain to the physical objects that serve as our psychic links to our target or object of focus.

Four: The Principle of Balance- Applies to magickal work in many ways, there are so many aspects to try to keep in balance during spell work. The right amount of each of the elements of creation, the proper amount of emotion, a balance between rhyme and reason, trance and intense focus…it is a flow that evades spoken or written word, magical balance is something that you feel. This is also a principle where the boundaries between the magical, mundane and spiritual are very blurred and interconnected; in order to be effective in all aspects of your life a balance between all of those aspects must be maintained.

Five: The Principle of the Infinite Universe- applies to magickal work because the way we individually perceive the world is going to make up our own personal set of symbolism. This ties in with the principle of Association and thus Similarity and Contagion. The things that cause one person to recall the image of a person or place may not work for another. For example the smell of ginger bread may link one person to the Yule season, where the smell of pine may work better for another. Each is equally valid for the individual whose inner processes are excited by them. It is important to know what works for you, but also have the wisdom to realize it may not be what works best for another.

Six: The Principle of Limitation- applies to magickal working in that you must place limitations both in time and direction for success. The idea behind this principle when dealing with your magical working is about focus and is similar to that of a flash light beam. If you have a light bulb that is not contained outside in the dark, you really are not going to be able to see much better that you did without it; in fact you may have even more trouble seeing. If you use a flashlight, which contains and directs the light, you can see much better. You can even narrow the beam of light and point it directly in front of you, making your path easily illuminated. It is the same with the energies you use in magic, the more focused and contained or limited the energies are the more proficient they will be in accomplishing your desired outcome.

Seven: The Principle of E-Motion- applies to magickal working in that emotion is the driving force of any spell or ritual. It is important to be able to raise and control the necessary amount of emotion to stir and direct the energies you are working with.

If you are overwhelmed with sadness and you attempt a healing spell for a sick friend, it is not going to work. Your sadness is going to overshadow the energies and taint them with an air of sadness, which is not the type of energy suitable for healing. If you have unresolved emotional issues, such as an angry chip on your shoulder, until you face this emotion and get it under control, your magical workings are more than likely going to all go awry in some fashion, because the underlying emotion is going to be one of anger.

In magic we are channels for the energies in which we use, we should be able to aid the energies with the proper emotions not hinder them with blockages and negative polarities.

Eight: The Principle of Binding- applies to magickal working by means of addressing the things or possibilities that can impede your desired outcome or the opposing side of an object or situation. For example as part of my spell work I take some time to think of some of the ways in which things could go wrong. Before I visualize my intended outcome I briefly visualize things that could oppose it, then I visualize very strongly a big heavy door slamming and loudly locking, thus closing the door to those possibilities. Duality is a necessary part of nature, this cannot be avoided, and it must be respected, acknowledged and properly dealt with in order to successfully practice magic.

For a growing few of us have heard the ancients call,
to those of us who follow a natural law,
whose souls have been stirred by the weaving spider in elder trees,
by whispering winds and oceans breeze,
by a candles flame and golden suns beam, by falling waters and glacial streams,
who know the truth that legends speak and feel the power and compassion of the mother earth beneath our feet.

Merry Meet All!

I am new to Covenspace and just wanted to say hello.

I have been a practicing Pagan for over 19 years, Wiccan most of those years.

I come here with hopes of meeting new people of like mind and hopefully making some friends. My background is Asatru, Feri, and Our Lady of Enchantment. I currently am interested in learning all I can about ritual possesion and Voudon. I also have a deep love of trance work.
